Is it worth paying more for Dulux paint?

Dulux has been manufactured for over 80 years and offers a variety of over 1200 colours; and you can choose from matt, silk or soft sheen (a washable, mid-sheen finish, halfway between matt and silk).Dulux offers a wide variety of products including interior and exterior paints, primers, wood stains, speciality paints and primers, caulks, sealants and effect finishes.

The option to choose Dulux considering all the variety and quality does however come at a price with a price tag higher than most smaller brands. So the question is does the quality outweigh the price?

So Why Pay More For Dulux?

When you factor in the cost of time, expensive paints such as Dulux come out on top. It can take several hours to a day to allow a coat of paint to dry. If you’re using a quality paint with more solids, you’ll only need a couple coats of paint.

To maximize value when you are painting your property, you do need to think about what your walls will come up against, and what rooms require better paint.

While cheaper, flat colours are a great way to cut down on costs, they won’t last as long as your higher-quality flat paint. A higher-quality flat paint that is washable will look better for a longer duration.

Price does make a difference, and there are certain situations where better paint is necessary. If you have little kids running around, then you might need a higher quality paint such as Dulux that is more washable to handle all the grimy fingerprints and crayon marks that show up on walls.

You will need to factor in your lifestyle and what the walls of your home are likely to endure. If you can pay for a brand such as Dulux with a matte finish that is also washable, you’ll have to pay a bit of extra money, but you’ll get a better-looking, longer-lasting paint.

Less Stick

One of the most dreadful experience you might encounter is having your clothes stained by paints, or if your newly-painted cabinet is difficult to open because the painted doors stuck together. This thing is unlikely to happen if you use high-quality paints as they are less likely to stick once they are dried.

Time

If you’re using a quality paint with more solids, you’ll only need a couple coats of paint. If you’re using a cheap paint with fewer solids, you’ll need additional coats. Each coat drying time adds time until the job is done.

Easier To Clean

If you use high-quality paints, cleaning your walls is not going to be a daunting task. Most quality paints are stain-resistant, and the dirt can be cleaned easily without the need of scrubbing, just by wiping a damp cloth with a little detergent.
