How Many Years Does a Slate Roof Last?
As long as your slate roof is correctly installed and flashed properly, your roof should be the last you ever put on your home.
It’s difficult to put an exact number on the lifespan, but there’s no reason a slate roof shouldn’t live around 80 years or even close to 100. Be aware, slate roof tiles are made naturally, so there’s no manufacturer warranty on the materials.
With regular roof maintenance there is no reason as to why that number can’t last as long as 200 years.
